Sonance Outdoor Speakers | CEDIA 2013

Featured Product – March 2014

The best outdoor speakers endure the elements and blend naturally with their surroundings, evenly coating your property with your favorite music while sounding like little more than a whisper to your neighbors.

It’s these characteristics that make it easy to recommend the Sonance Landscape Series (SLS) and SONARRAY SR1 outdoor speaker systems. Read on to learn why both the SLS and SONARRAY are “the best outdoor speakers you’ll never see.”

Why we chose Sonance Landscape Series and SONARRAY SR1

Sonance Landscape Series | HiFi House

The Sonance Landscape Series and SONARRAY SR1 systems give you the opportunity to include high-fidelity audio in your landscaping design without cumbersome rock and cabinet speakers. Camouflaged to resemble landscape lighting, SLS and SONARRAY speakers are barely noticeable when installed among foliage or in a flower bed.

Built for performance, the directionality of these speakers keeps the music aimed toward your listening area, flooding your property with a perfectly blended soundscape. This also prevents the audio from spilling into neighboring yards, meaning you can listen louder without worrying whether you’re bugging everybody on your block.

Compared to SONARRAY, the Sonance Landscape Series takes outdoor audio to the next level. Ideal for more demanding residential and commercial projects, the SLS system promises top-shelf performance you need to hear to believe. With greater fidelity and flexibility, Sonance Landscape Series speakers are for when you want the very best outdoor listening experience.

Sonance Landscape Series and SONARRAY SR1 reviews

Sonance Landscape Series | Outdoor Speakers

Both SONARRAY and the Landscape Series were well-received among critics and industry experts. Joe Whitaker of Electronic House adored the SONARRAY SR1 in his 2013 review, writing:

“I often look for products that deliver the ‘most bang for your buck,’ and I’ll certainly be recommending the SONARRAY system for outdoor entertainment. You and your friends can spend hours outside listening to it—and your neighbors don’t have to.”

Likewise, the Sonance Landscape Series stole the show when we displayed it at the 2013 Stotesbury Cup Regatta. Attendees would frequently drop by our booth to hang out, dance, and rock out to some Dave Matthews.

The Sonance Landscape Series doesn’t seem to have any formal reviews that we could find, but our customers love the system. We suggest checking out John Sciacca’s preview on Residential Systems, where he comments:

“Wow! In fact, it was actually weird to hear music sounding this good outdoors that wasn’t at a concert, and it made me aware of just how tolerant we have become of just-good-enough or something-better-than-nothing audio in outdoor areas.”

Likewise, our “FREE on-site SLS demo” promotion was a huge hit last spring. Because of this, we’re doing it again this year, giving you the chance to hear the SLS system from the comfort of your own backyard (more details below).

Specs and highlights*

SLS Speakers | Sonance Landscape Series

In the image above, you can see just how much flexibility you’re getting with the Sonance Landscape Series. With 3.5″, 6″, and 6.5″ satellite speakers, 10″, 12″, and 15″ buried subwoofers, and a 10″ hardscape subwoofer, the SLS speaker line is – in a word – versatile. You can build your system piece by piece, designing a unique system that will produce the best possible sound for your space.

Capable of multi-zone playback, the high-output SLS speaker system delivers concert-quality audio right to your own backyard. It’s also built to withstand even the harshest weather conditions, so you won’t have to fret when it rains, snows, or storms. Extreme heat, sand, and sea water are also a non-issue, making these speakers a great solution for your shore home.

The material composing the SLS system is designed to resist chips and scratching while retaining its color, even with the sun’s UV rays beating down on it.

The directionality of the SLS and SONARRAY systems also make them ideal for business applications. Bar and club owners can easily distribute music to a zone without causing discomfort to guests outside of the intended listening area.

Once installed, the SLS system is nearly invisible. In fact, many of our customers can’t help but comment on how they hardly notice their outdoor speaker system post-installation.

The SONARRAY SR1 is an affordable alternative to the SLS system, making it the ideal upgrade from rock speakers and outdoor cabinet speakers (especially if your space and budget are limited).

The SONARRAY SR1 is recommended for spaces of up to 2,000 square feet, such as a patio or a garden. Including eight 3.5″ diameter satellite speakers and an 8″ in-ground subwoofer, the SONARRAY SR1 boasts many of the same benefits of the SLS system, but on a smaller scale.
